REFIBER LA

Developing local textile recovery infrastructure for Los Angeles.

REFIBER LA is an early-stage industrial project focused on building local processing capacity for discarded textiles and recovered fiber streams in Los Angeles County.

The company is currently in the pre-launch stage and is evaluating industrial sites, equipment requirements, permitting pathways, and commercial partnerships.

The Project

What We're Developing

REFIBER LA is working to establish a Los Angeles-area facility for textile receiving, sorting, mechanical processing, fiber preparation, baling, storage, and outbound shipment of recovered materials.

The facility is intended to serve collectors, sorters, brands, producers, and downstream material buyers that need more reliable local options for textile recovery and responsible material handling.

Why Los Angeles

Los Angeles sits at the center of a large textile, apparel, logistics, and waste-management ecosystem. The region has existing textile collectors, graders, reuse operators, apparel businesses, ports, freight infrastructure, and industrial submarkets that make it a practical location for local recovery infrastructure.

01

Textile & Apparel Ecosystem

  • Existing collectors, graders, and reuse operators
  • Active apparel businesses and brands
  • Established supply-chain relationships
02

Logistics & Freight Infrastructure

  • Major port access and freight corridors
  • Industrial submarkets across LA County
  • Strong inbound and outbound freight networks
03

Local Capacity Gap

  • Too much material moving through disposal or export
  • Need for processing between collection and end-market
  • Better recovery pathways are possible locally

Why Now

California's textile recovery landscape is changing. Producers, brands, collectors, and service providers will need more practical infrastructure to support collection, sorting, reuse, repair, recycling, traceability, and responsible end markets.

Shifting Regulatory Landscape

California's evolving policies are creating new obligations for producers, brands, and service providers around textile recovery and responsible end-market accountability.

Infrastructure Gap

REFIBER LA is being developed to help address the infrastructure gap locally — providing the processing capacity the region currently lacks between collection and end-market use.

Pre-Launch Focus

The company is currently focused on identifying the right site, confirming the permitting path, evaluating equipment needs, and speaking with potential commercial and operating partners.

Current Focus

What We're Working On

REFIBER LA is actively working through the critical steps required before launch. The current site search is focused on industrial properties that can support machinery, truck movement, electrical load, fire/life-safety review, dust collection, and applicable local and regional approvals.

Site Identification

Industrial site selection in LA County, and across Carson, South Bay, and port-adjacent submarkets.

Permitting & Zoning

Zoning and permitting diligence to confirm a workable regulatory path for processing operations at the selected site.

Equipment & Utilities

Evaluating equipment needs and utility planning to support mechanical processing, dust collection, and electrical load requirements.

Feedstock & Offtake

Active conversations with collectors, sorters, and feedstock partners, plus recovered-material buyer and offtake discussions.

Financing & Launch Readiness

Financing preparation and launch-readiness planning to bring the facility from development to operational status.

Who We Want to Speak With

REFIBER LA is currently open to conversations with partners across the industrial, real estate, textile, and materials sectors.
